Burundian president sends letter to president Saleh

SANA’A, April 02 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh received a letter from Burundian president Pierre Nkurunziza deals with the necessity to open a new ties with Yemen. The letter was handed over to the Vice-President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi during his meeting Wednesday with the speaker of the Senate of Burundi Gervais Rufyikiri who is currently visiting Yemen. The letter included the Burundian president’s eagerness to visit Yemen to discuss the matter of the mutual relations in details. The meeting attended by Shura Chairman Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Ghani discussed a number of issues pertaining to the economic, political and security fields at the regional and international levels as well as the situations in Somalia and Sudan. Hadi affirmed the Yemen’s support for settling security and stability in Somalia, stressing as well on the country’s keenness on the Sudanese union and not to be interfered in its interior affairs, particularity in Darfur region. The Burundian official confirmed that the Yemen’s views are in conformity with the Burundi’s, indicating to the Burundian peacekeeping forces existing in Dar Fore region of Sudan and Somalia for this purpose.
