President attends graduation ceremony of 12th SJI batch

SANA’A, Feb. 11 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended here on Sunday the graduation ceremony of 12th batch of Supreme Judicial Institute.In the ceremony, President Saleh delivered a speech in which he expressed congratulations to the graduates and the leadership of Judicial Council,Justice Ministry and institute’s administration for their efforts in helping new batch. It was a wise decision to establish the institute which now contributes to train the judges, he said. “We have to welcome new generation to enable them resume their responsibility in different fields,” he said. He said “We grant judicial authorities all care and attention and they were provided with full autonomy as we believe in the importance of separatingthe executive, legislative and judicial systems.” He urged judges to shoulder their responsibilities as justice is not to be realized without professional fidelity on the part of the Judge who is the only one responsible for achieving justice. “Judges should avoid intermediaries and ‘telephone calls’ in face of crooks,”Saleh said. He also urged the government to have judicial laws taught in private colleges, and to conduct rehabilitation courses for prosecution staff before assuming their tasks. He also stressed on the commercial judiciary, pointing to the international deals that necessitate judges to have advanced knowledge in several areas including English language. KN/AH SABA
