President attends graduation of 11th batch of staff officers

ANA’A, May 19 (Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh attended on Saturday the graduation ceremony of the 11th batch of staff commanders of the High Military Academy. Addressing the attendants, president Saleh said that the existence of the academy and the High Police Institute helped in promoting performance of Interior Ministry. Now it is time of modern sciences and the armed forces have taken advance step in leaving haphazardness to do their duties with high quality performance depends on good training and experience, he said. Chairman of the academy Abdu Rabu al-Qushaibi reviewed the academy’s activities in fields of qualifying soldiers and commanders. He pointed out to the 11th batch of staff officers received various modern military courses for 16 months. This batch included 11 officers from Oman, Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Sudan and Mauritania. On behalf of the Arab graduates, Sudanese Major General Khalaf Allah al-Hasan thanked the president and the academy for qualifying them and for the president’s pro-Arab and Islamic issues. After his participation in the ceremony, president Saleh paid a visit to the exhibition of the military researches that were conducted by the graduates. Then, he opened the new building of the High War College. The cost of the new building was estimated at YR 450 million. FR/AHSABA
