President, Hamas leader hold talks on Palestinian developments
SANA’A, March 11 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh held here on Sunday talks with the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Khalid Mish’al over the latest developments in Palestine as well as exerted efforts to form a national united government of Palestine according to Mecca accord which Hamas and Fatah have signed. President Saleh reasserted Yemen’s support for Palestinian right to establish their independent state and al-Quds as its capital, praising the Mecca agreement. He emphasized the significance of reinforcing unity of the Palestinian general position to encounter challenges and end occupation sufferings. For his part, Mish’al highlighted president Saleh’s efforts and stances devoted to restoring the Palestinian legal rights, pointing out to his role in reaching the accord of Mecca. He voiced hopes that the coming Arab Summit would come out with effective decisions ensuring a halt to the Israeli occupation. AM/AH SABA
