President renews call for setting up Islamic union

ADEN, January 8 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh renewed on Monday call of Yemen to set up Islamic union to face current challenges.

In his speech for the nation on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, President Saleh said that sons of the Islamic and Arabic nation should realize their situation and work to change it.

He also pointed out to the achievements in the country at different levels, announcing further measures to enhance democracy and the development in the country.

He said that the coming period would witness many steps in making changes in the current laws of economy and investment in order to better investment environment and attract further foreign and local investments to the country.

He renewed call on all businessmen inside or outside of the country to invest in Yemen.
He also called all in the nation for doubling efforts to reach goals of development and building the country.
He pointed out that acts done by some people in the country such tourist kidnapping harm interests of the country and damage economy and tourism.
He confirmed those would not escape from the justice and they will receive just punishment.

He said that the terror and extremism are global diseases which have not nationality or religion, calling for gathering effort of the international community to root out these diseases as they are threatening peace and security of the world.
