President Saleh calls for Islamic Union

MECCA, Saudi Arabia, Dec. 7 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh called for, in his speech in the opening session of the Islamic summit in Mecca, establishing an Islamic union and stimulating the structural system ofthe organization of Islamic conference.
He also called for reviewing the current charter of the organization and to allocate budget of the organization according to the incomes of each member state. He affirmed the importance of unifying efforts of all Islamic countries to serve interests of the Islamic nation.
He wished the summit would come out with positive decisions reflect the political spirit and the aspirations of Islamic peoples and enhance the Islamic solidarity and develop joint work as well in order to face all challenges surrounding the Islamic nation.
