President Saleh, Gressani review WB’s projects in Yemen

SANA’A, Feb. 07 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh held talks here on Wednesday with the vice chairman of World Bank (WB) for Middle East and North Africa Daniela Gressani on the projects and programs financed by the WB in Yemen. The WB’s official hailed results of the 2nd Consultative Meeting between Yemen and Donors, parsing the Yemeni government’s efforts to utilize perfectly from the donors funds to implement development projects. Gressani asserted the WB’s support for the reform efforts and development process in Yemen. She also highlighted the advanced procedures Yemen has carried out to reform administrational and constitutional systems, topped by enhancing the judiciary’s independence, establishing the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption and the Supreme Committee of Tenders as well as its efforts in fields of financial and custom legislations and for strengthening the women participation in the political and public domains. President Saleh, for his part, valued cooperation between Yemen and the WB as well as the bank’s support for the country and its development. He expressed his satisfaction at the outcomes of the 2nd Consultative Meeting that held in Sana’a for supporting development process in Yemen, emphasizing the country’s intention to go forwards in the reform process.
