President Saleh heads first meeting of new government
Sana’a, April 07(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh headed on Saturday the first meeting of new government he appointed last Thursday giving ministers guidelines to do their responsibilities. President Saleh address focused on the responsibility of improving investment sector in the country and giving local, Arab and international investments more opportunities and facilities “to improve the national economy according to the electoral program of the General People’s Congress”. “You have great responsibilities to carry out according to priorities determined in the electoral program of GPC’s candidate such as encouraging foreign local, Arab and foreign investment, doubling efforts to improve the status quo of electricity power as it is extremely important for economic, agricultural and industrial development”, said Saleh. He said the new government should be interested to increase the electrical generation by gas or by peaceful nuclear energy according to recommendations of the Arab Summit in Riyadh about the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes “as the former government was interested in roads and telecommunications.” He ordered the government of Ali Mohammad Mujawar to find strategic projects in partnership with the private and mixed sectors so that such projects could absorb more work forces. “The government should be more keen to improve the living standards of Yemeni people, fix prices, fight price hikes caused by those who play with prices,” said Saleh. The ministry of trade and industry must increase the supplies control and constantly fix prices, even the trade is now subject to free market,” Saleh added. He urged all to declare war against corruption and corrupts. “Those corrupts think they are not observed, but they are of course.
