President Saleh heads joint cabinet and GPC meeting

SANA’A, Nov. 17(Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh presided on Thursday a joint meeting that brought together members of the cabinet and the general committee of General People’s Congress
(GPC).

The meeting reviewed outcomes of president Saleh’s tour to Japan, the United States and France in addition to Thailand.

The meeting discussed topics related to democracy, the national economy and procedures of combating corruption.

The meeting also discussed work process in the oil block No. 18 in Marib after Safir petroleum company took over its operation from the
U.S. Hunt oil company after the end of Hunt’s concession in mid-November.

The officials also discussed arrangements for holding the 7th GPC general conference and political program of the party for the next
period.

The meeting recommended the government to hold periodical meetings until the holding of the PGC conference in order to come out with
suitable procedures for enhancing reforms process.
