President Saleh meets French foreign minister

PARIS, Nov 14 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh received here on Monday at his residence in Paris the French Foreign Minister Philippe
Douste-Blazy.
During the meeting, Saleh discussed with Douste-Blazy the Yemeni-French relations and horizons of strengthening and ways of extending Yemen’s efforts in economic development and reforms
programs implementation and the human source development.
They also reviewed Yemen role in democracy stabilization and fighting terror.
The two sides’ talks dealt with the latest developments on the regional and international arenas specially the situations in Iraq,
Palestine andthe African horn region in addition to the current efforts aim to restore peace in the middle east region.
The meeting shade lights on issue of civilizations and cultures dialogue to enhance the convergence among the nations.
Saleh greatly appreciated relations of the friendship and partnership between Yemen and France, confirming Yemen’s keen interest to develop horizons of cooperation with France. He also highly praised the French support to Yemen.
For his part, French official considers the president’s visit as a great opportunity to enhance bilateral historical relations that based on mutual cooperation between the two countries.
He expressed his country’s admiration of the democratic experience of Yemen. Appreciating the Yemen-French relations.
