President Saleh meets German president

BERLIN, Jan 25 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Wednesday in the capital of Germany, Berlin, the German president Horst
Koehler.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
They discussed the latest regional and international developments such as Palestinian situations over the currently legal elections
there. They also discussed the current situations in Iraq, Somali and the African horn as well as the Iranian nuclear file.
They also discussed the possibilities to support the international efforts in fighting the terrorism.
Saleh highlighted the friendly relations and significant cooperation between the two countries, confirming Yemen adherence to enhance ties with Germany in different fields.
He praised the German support to Yemen in fields of investment, democracy, and terrorism fight. President Saleh renewed the Yemen
stance over the developments in the region saying that Israel should implement the international community resolutions regarding the roadmap for reaching a real peace in the region.
He pointed out that Yemen condemns kidnapping the German engineers in Iraq, calling the kidnappers to free them soon.
Saleh also invited Koehler to visit Yemen.
For his part, the German president welcomed president Saleh, praising the Yemeni- German historical relations.
