President Saleh meets Turkish Erdogan

ANKARA, Feb. 26 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh held talks on Tuesday with the Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the talks, they discussed historical relations and mutual cooperation between Yemen and Turkey at deferent levels. They exchanged viewpoints over the current situations in the Middle East region, especially in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Somalia as well as arrangements for upcoming Islamic summit that will be held in the Senegal capital Dakar next March. President Saleh and the Turkish premier affirmed the importance of enhancing and extending mutual cooperation ties between the two countries. The Turkish premier said that his government would encourage Turkish companies to invest in Yemen for serving the common interests. For his part, President Saleh welcomed Turkish investments in the country, pointing to several investment opportunities available in Yemen. AH/YA Saba
