President Saleh sworn in

SANA’A, Sept. 27 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh was on Wednesday sworn in before the parliament as being elected for the next seven yearsas the president of Yemen. In a speech he delivered after being sworn in, president Saleh outlined the importance of the coming period and the priorities of his future construction at the national level. He also specified the steps to be taken to fulfill his presidential election pledges. The session was headed by vice-speaker Yahya al-Ra’ai and attended by the vice-president Abdu Rabu Mansour, Prime Minister Abdul Qader Ba-Jammal, Shura Council chairman Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani, all the ministers, all the members of Shura council and the parliament in addition to the members of the diplomatic corps. The Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) announced last Saturday that the President Saleh has won Yemen’s presidential election with more than 4 million votes at 77.17 % for a new coming presidential term.
