Saleh launches, lays foundation stones for 139 projects in Capital

SANA’A, June 26 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 139 developmental projects in the Secretariat Capital at a cost YR 55 billion on Saturday. Saleh was received at al-Sabeen Square by mayor Abdul Rahman al-Akwa’a, municipal Secretary General Ameen Jumaan and a number of officials. Arriving at the square, he launched 139 strategic projects including completed al-Zubairi, Saba roundabout and al-Amri roundabout bridges and subways. Saleh also familiarized with final preparations for opening subways in Alhasaba and Aljame’ah districts. He urged the competent authorities to exercise maximum accuracy when completing the two projects to open them over the next weeks. Moreover, he was briefed on other accomplished projects that covered areas such as roads, sanitation, parks, youth and sports and technical education and vocation training. On the other hand, President Saleh laid the foundation stones for 69 projects including 5 bridges and subways and a project for boosting the capacity of the Sana’a sewage treatment station being implemented by a specialized German company with finance from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.
