US president congratulates president Saleh

SANA’A, Sep. 26 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received a phone call from American president George W. Bush who congratulated presidentSaleh on winning Wednesday’s presidential election. The US president Bush said that the elections were good example in Middle East region, expressing support of United States for the democracy inthe country. He highlighted Yemeni-American ties between, parsing efforts of Yemen in fighting terrorism. He said that the Unites States will continue its support of development process in Yemen and in fighting terror. He also congratulated president Saleh on holy month of Ramadan. President Saleh expressed thanks for president Bush, affirming concern of Yemen in enhancing ties with United States to server mutual interests of both countries. AH/AH SABA
