President back home from Putrajaya

ADEN, Oct 17 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh returned to Aden after Friday attending the 10th summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Putrajaya, Malaysia. President Saleh was received in Aden international Airport by Aden Governor, Yahya Ashuaybi, Lit. Ali M. Rashid, Deputy Director of the Political Security Bureau and senior other officials. President Saleh had been elected Vice Chairman for the conference of Islamic leaders. He presided over a two-hour session yesterday during which many attendant leaders delivered addresses. On the sideline of the summit, President Saleh spoke with many of his counterparts on topics related to unifying the political stances of the Moslem nations against challenges and the links between Yemen and the country of each. With Somalia’s transitional leader Abdulkassim Salat Hassan, President Saleh discussed the progress of peace efforts in Somalia and issues related to the Islamic conference. Saleh expressed Yemen’s commitment to support peace and unity in Somalia. President Saleh said today, in an interview with Al-Jazeera Arabic TV channel, that he was looking forward to joint decisions to either end or suspend the Moslem ties with Israel for its occupation of the Palestinian territories.
