President Saleh arrives Washington

WASHINGTON, Nov.09(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived on Wednesday in Andros Air Base, in his official visit to the United States within his tour including France and Japan as well.

President Saleh was welcomed in the US military base by some US military commanders,
The Yemeni ambassador to Washington Abdul-Wahab al-Hajari, the Yemeni permanent representative in the United Nations Abdullah al-Saydi, some members of the Yemeni community, the head of the diplomatic corps and the American ambassador to Yemen Thomas Krajeski.

During the visit, the president will hold talks with the American President Gorge W. Bush and other top American officials about the bilateral relations and fields of mutual cooperation.

The talks will deal with the regional and international developments, specially the situations in Palestine, Iraq, Somalia and the African Horn.

The talks will focus also on efforts exerted to fight terror and means of enhancing security, stability and peace in the region and the world.

The president was accompanied with a high- profile delegation including Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ahmed Sofan, Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qerbi, Interior Minister Rashad al-Alimi, the Minister of Industry and Trade Khalid Rajeh Sheikh and the Minister of State Abdullah Al-Bashiri.
