President Saleh warns Hamas, Fatah of common enemy

SANA’A, Sept. 14(Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh received a telephone call from Khaled Mashal, head of the political office of resistance Hamas movement. President Saleh and Mashal exchanged congratulations on the Holy Month of Ramadan and wished Yemeni and Palestinian people health and prosperity. Mashal briefed the president on developments in Palestine and praised his supporting attitudes for the Palestinian issue and his interest in the Palestinian unity. President Saleh urged Hamas and Fatah to settle their disputes and to work together to serve the Palestinian people within the framework of Mecca and Cairo agreements. He urged the two movements not to give their common enemy any advantage to split Palestine. Meanwhile, president Saleh received a telephone call from the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates Mohammad bin Zaid bin Sultan al-Nahyan, deputy commander of the armed forces. They exchanged felicitations on the advent of Ramadan and talked over brotherly relations and the latest developments in the region. NS/NS Saba
