Saleh offers initiative to resolve Fatah-Hamas feud

SANA’A, (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh offered on Thursday an initiative included a number of proposals and practical actions to resolve the Fatah-Hamas dispute. In a meeting with the head of the political bureau of Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Khaled Mashal, Saleh suggested resuming the dialogue between Hamas and Fatah according to the Cairo accord 2005 and Mecca agreement 2007 to assure the unification of the Palestinian people and its national authority. Saleh affirmed that the political leadership in the country would follow up putting the initiative into action including resuming the dialogue and the outcomes that would come out. In the meeting, Mashal introduced the president Saleh and the vice-president Abdu-Rabo Mansur Hadi to the complexity of the situation in Palestine and the necessity of creating solutions for the benefit of the Palestinian national union. Saleh renew the Yemeni supporting attitude for the Palestinian issues, resistance and their right to establish their independent state on their national territory, Palestine, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. The Hamas’s leader Mashal welcomed the Saleh’s initiative, voicing his appreciation to the president and his unlimited support to Palestinian people and country. Later Thursday Mashal left Yemen after a short visit. AF/AF
