Saleh receives Malaysian Premier

SANA’A, Feb. 28(Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received, here on Wednesday, Malaysia’s visiting Premier Abdullah Badawi and the accompanying delegation. Saleh welcomed the Malaysian official and his delegation, praising the growing relations of both countries in all domains. He affirmed Yemen’s keenness to improve and reinforce cooperation with Malaysia to serve joint interests of both nations, reinviting Malaysian business people to invest in Yemen and that they would be granted all required and encouraging facilitations. “Participation of Malaysian businessmen and investors in this visit would contribute to reinforcing economic partnership and creating joint opportunities with their Yemeni counterparts to improve investment and commercial cooperation,” said Saleh. For his part, the Malaysian Premier, Badaw, commended the Yemeni-Malaysian fraternal ties, making clear that his visit to Yemen is meant to improve and reinforce the mutual cooperation and explore further opportunities of cooperation in various fields, the economic, commercial and investment fields in particular. He invited Saleh to visit Malaysia at his convenience. The talks also dealt with the latest regional, Islamic and international developments of concerns to both countries, particularly the situations in Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Darfur region, Somalia and Afghanistan, in addition to the OIC role in serving the Islamic nation issues under the current critical circumstances it undergoes.
