Vice President chairs joint meeting of ruling party and cabinet
SANA’A, June 20 (Saba) – Vice President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi chaired on Monday a joint meeting of the General Committee of the General People Congress party and the cabinet. At the beginning of the meeting, the Vice President said that the healthy conditions of President Ali Abdullah Saleh and senior officials who were injured in the attack on the mosque of the presidential palace were better and improving well. Hadi briefed the participants in the meeting on his meetings with the Joint Meetings Parties (JMP) and various groups of the opposition, including young protesters. He also explained all actions and measures taken in order to cease fire and remove gunmen from the capital Sana’a, pointing to that the armed and security forces were able to fully control the situation. He went on to say that responsible and concerned bodies should enforce laws that require control and accountability. The Vice President made it clear that the army and security forces were fighting groups of al-Qaeda terrorists who had tried to control the city of Zinjibar in Abyan province. In the meeting, the participants discussed efforts being made to provide oil and gas supplies and end the problems of electricity and water in the country. A number of ministers and officials presented reports on several issues, including oil, electricity, economy and security. They also condemned all criminal acts that were carried out in accordance with a planned sabotage against the Yemeni people, security, stability and the provision of public services. They held discussions on all issues and topics on the agenda of the meeting, particularly the crisis of petroleum products, gas, electricity, food and displaced people in the provinces of Lahj and Abyan due to battles with the terrorist elements of al-Qaeda. The Vice President ordered the government to immediately allocate YR 100 million to meet the urgent and basic needs of the displaced people from Abyan and Lahj. YA Saba
